The Town of Waitsfield is seeking candidates interested in serving as the Town Health Officer or Deputy Town Health Officer. A Town Health Officer is, by Vermont law, given the authority to, “investigate and mitigate any potential or existing public health hazard in his/her town.” The officer works with the Selectboard, and together they form the local Board of Health. The officer and/or deputy investigates complaints, takes emergency mitigation steps, and may enforce any state health regulations and local health ordinances in town. A dedication to diplomacy and due process are a must. The Town offers a $250 annual stipend to the Town Health Officer.
